Word of the Lord – Cheshvan

Ephesians 6 calls on believers to embrace God’s strength and to put on His complete armor: truth, righteousness, readiness, faith, salvation, and the Word. This month, the key focus is on fully donning the armor of God.

This armor equips believers to face the enemy’s schemes and remains strong in their God-given assignments. It enables them to identify and resist the specific challenges that the devil may use against their purpose.

In the current year, 5785, there is a strong call for believers to engage actively in evangelism, sharing the gospel’s message with those who have yet to experience it’s grace. As stated in Ephesians 6:15, believers are urged to have “feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace.”

This readiness is not self-generated but is rooted in the gift of salvation, given by grace, as emphasized in Ephesians 2:8-9. When God cut a covenant with Abraham, he fulfilled both sides. In the same way, Jesus secured both sides of the covenant for humanity and the gospel of peace.

The gospel of peace brings restoration, reconciliation, wholeness, and well-being, emphasizing both “shalom” and “shalam.”

Believers are called to embrace their new assignments with purpose, bringing the message of peace and wholeness to the world. Understanding that the true struggle is against spiritual forces. Truth, righteousness, readiness, faith, salvation, and the Word are essential to victory.

With this readiness and the full armor of God, believers are encouraged to stand firm, grounded in truth, and empowered by God’s strength. They must be fully prepared to resist any attacks on their purpose and calling.

Clothed in the full armor of God (truth, righteousness, readiness, faith, salvation, and the Word), believers are better equipped to withstand the enemy’s plans and remain steadfast in their mission to share God’s grace.
